Bathroom Remodeling in Winston-Salem, NC
A bathroom is the smallest room in the house and the least forgiving. Every inch of tile is visible, every slope has to drain, and any waterproofing shortcut shows up as a problem two years later.
June Delugas Interiors designs and builds bathrooms in Winston-Salem as a single team — designer, project manager and trades — so the details that make a bath feel custom are drawn before they are built, and built by people who understand why they were drawn that way.
Primary suite bathrooms
The primary bath is where most of our Winston-Salem clients spend their renovation budget, and it is usually worth it. Typical projects include:
- Removing the dated corner garden tub and reclaiming the space for a larger shower
- Freestanding soaking tubs with floor-mounted fillers
- Double vanities with real storage — drawers, outlets inside, proper lighting at face height
- Curbless or low-curb walk-in showers with frameless glass
- Heated tile floors
- Separate water closets and dedicated linen storage
- Full closet redesign as part of the suite
Guest and hall baths
Smaller baths reward good design more than large ones because the constraints are real. Wall-mounted or floating vanities, a pedestal sink where space is tight, well-scaled tile, a good mirror and a light fixture with some character can transform a hall bath without moving a single wall. These are also our most common “let’s start here” projects for new clients.
Powder rooms
The one room where you can be bold. Hand-painted or grasscloth wallpaper, an interesting vessel or console sink, a decorative mirror and a light fixture that acts like jewelry. Small budget, disproportionate impact — and the room every guest sees.
Walk-in showers and tubs
We design showers around how you actually use them: bench or no bench, niche placement at the right height, a handheld plus a rainhead, linear drains for curbless entry, and glass that is cleanable. Underneath the tile, we use a proper waterproofing system with a sloped pan and correct pre-slope. That is the part nobody sees and the part that determines whether the shower lasts twenty years.
Tile, vanities and lighting
Our design center carries physical samples of tile, stone, quartz, wood finishes and fabrics, so you see your selections together under real light before anything is ordered. We specify:
- Floor and wall tile, including large-format, marble, porcelain, zellige and mosaic
- Slab and quartz counters, and custom vanity cabinetry
- Plumbing fixtures and finishes — polished nickel, unlacquered brass, matte black, chrome
- Mirrors, sconces and vanity lighting placed at the correct height
- Paint, wallpaper, trim and hardware
Accessible and aging-in-place bathrooms
More of our Winston-Salem clients are remodeling to stay in a home they love for the next twenty years. That can be done beautifully. Curbless showers, 36-inch doorways, comfort-height toilets, non-slip tile, blocking in the walls for future grab bars, benches and handhelds, and lever handles — all specified so the room reads as elegant, not clinical. If you are planning ahead, tell us on the discovery call and we will design for it now, while the walls are open.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a bathroom remodel cost in Winston-Salem?
Most projects run $25,000–$75,000+. Size, tile selection, and whether plumbing has to move are the biggest cost drivers.
How long does a bathroom remodel take?
Roughly 6–8 weeks of construction, after 3–5 weeks of design and selections plus material lead times.
Should I replace my garden tub with a bigger shower?
In most primary baths, yes. The corner jetted tub is the least-used fixture in the house, and that footprint usually makes a much better shower and vanity run.
Can you remodel a bathroom in an older Ardmore or West End home?
Yes. Older homes bring plaster, old plumbing stacks and undersized electrical. We plan for those in design rather than discovering them mid-project.
Do you handle permits?
Yes. We pull permits and manage inspections as your general contractor.
