Kitchen Remodeling in Winston-Salem, NC

A kitchen remodel is the project homeowners agonize over longest and regret fastest when it is done badly. Cabinets that do not reach the ceiling. An island you cannot walk around. Beautiful counters under lighting that makes everyone look tired.
June Delugas Interiors designs and builds kitchens in Winston-Salem from one team — the designer who plans your layout is working alongside the contractor who builds it. That is how you get a kitchen that photographs beautifully and works at 6pm on a Tuesday.
Kitchens we design
Transitional
The most requested style in Winston-Salem right now. Shaker or recessed-panel doors, warm neutral paint, natural stone, unlacquered brass or matte black hardware, and just enough contrast to keep it from going flat.
Traditional
Right at home in Buena Vista and Ardmore. Furniture-style islands, detailed millwork, glass-front uppers, inset cabinetry and materials that look correct to the age of the house.
Modern and contemporary
Flat-panel and rift-cut wood doors, integrated appliances, minimal upper cabinetry, waterfall edges and concealed storage that keeps the sight lines clean

Cabinetry — custom vs. semi-custom
Cabinetry is usually the largest line in a kitchen budget, and the decision is simpler than it sounds.
Semi-custom cabinetry comes from a manufacturer’s line in fixed increments with a wide range of doors, finishes and interior options. It is the right choice for most kitchens with a conventional footprint, and it saves both money and lead time.
Custom cabinetry is built to your exact dimensions. It is the answer when you have an odd wall, a nine-foot ceiling you want to use, a specific piece of furniture to build around, or an inset-door look you want done properly. We specify both and we will tell you honestly which one your kitchen needs.
Getting the layout right
The single biggest driver of whether you love a kitchen is not the finish package — it is the plan. Things we work through with you:
- Clearances: at least 42 inches around an island for one cook, 48 for two
- Where the prep zone sits relative to sink, cooktop and trash
- Whether a wall is structural before anyone promises to remove it
- Landing space beside the range and refrigerator
- Real storage: pantry, drawers over doors, tray dividers, appliance garages
- Seating that people will actually use, at a height that works
Timeline
- Discovery call and in-home consultation: week 1
- Design, revisions and selections: 4–6 weeks
- Proposal, ordering and cabinetry lead time: 6–10 weeks (cabinetry drives this)
- Construction: 8–12 weeks for most kitchens
- Furnishing and styling: 1–2 weeks
Most Winston-Salem kitchen projects run about five to seven months from first call to finished room. Ordering early is what protects the schedule.
What a kitchen remodel costs in Winston-Salem
Most full kitchen remodels we do in Winston-Salem land between $60,000 and $150,000. A cosmetic refresh — new counters, backsplash, lighting and paint with existing cabinet boxes — can come in well under that. Moving walls, relocating plumbing, custom inset cabinetry and high-end appliances push it above.
We give you a real number after the design phase, not a guess on the first visit.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a kitchen remodel cost in Winston-Salem?
Most full remodels run $60,000–$150,000+. The variables that move the number most are cabinetry, whether the layout changes, and appliance selection.
How long will I be without a kitchen?
Typically 8–12 weeks of construction. We will help you set up a temporary kitchen and we contain dust at the work area.
Do you design kitchens for people who want to hire their own contractor?
Our model is design-build — one team from plan to punch list — because that is what protects the result.
Can you match a kitchen to the age of my house?
Yes, and in Ardmore, West End and Buena Vista we usually should. Cabinet profile, trim detail and hardware are what make a new kitchen feel original to an older home.
Do you handle permits and inspections?
Yes. As the general contractor we pull permits and manage inspections with Forsyth County and the City of Winston-Salem.
What appliances do you recommend?
It depends on how you cook and your budget. We will spec the package during design so the cabinetry is built around it, not adjusted after it arrives.
