Every year, we see design trends come and go.  Some stay for years to come, while others fade away as quickly as they came.  Geometric prints and saturated colors have been among us for several years now.   This year, we saw a resurgence of oriental motifs, Greek key patterns everywhere, and gold metallics replacing silver.  Pantone named Emerald Green the color of the year.  Combinations of orange and blue could be seen in almost every showroom at the market.  Horses were the favorite animal for the year.  Earth tones and natural materials had a big presence in 2013…unfinished wood, seashells, woven grasses.

It is interesting to see design trends from past decades come back around as we get older… colors and shapes from the ‘70s, bright floral prints and wallpaper from the ‘80s.

Which trends do you think will come with us into 2014?
