This title explains it all. I think of carpet, fabric, and wallpaper when the term cover up comes to mind. A beautiful runner is a cover up on wood stairs or painted stairs, but I love the chance to put a pattern and some color on stair runners. Another place to show off graphics, geometrics, stripes, and tweeds. Carpets are built to take abuse with kids, animals, and constant travel on them. They also prevent nasty falls from slippery stairs. Stair runners have multiple purposes. It is a practical reality of decorating. Wallpapers are continuing to trend which I also consider a nice cover-up. You can see that the trends are telling us that navy blue, ocean blue, and soft blues are being seen in minimal to industrial. All styles love utilizing wallpaper. Fabric is also another way stylist showcase fun colors and patterns. We receive new books into our design library, and you would think it was Christmas in April. We cannot wait to dig through all the colorations and patterns that are new styles. You can find just about any color combination with some effort. People tend to go for happy colors during hard times and Pandemic times. Although, the color experts have tried to bring the muddy colors of the 70s back, it has not worked with the public. Every now and then I see a yellow gold peep out of our books of fabrics and wallpaper. Honestly, it is a breath of fresh air because it is a happy sunshine color. I’ve always liked yellow gold, but because it was over saturated during the 90’s and early 2000s, people were sick of it. I am thrilled with today’s colors. I like light and bright myself. It never fails me with our showcase of homes. There is nothing wrong with a rich blue /teal color being used for a dining room or and office here and there, but mostly people are happier with light colors and sunlight.
