The fall market is coming up and there is always an air of excitement surrounding its arrival. As a matter of fact, my associates and I are in the process of redesigning the retail showroom and design center to showcase new artwork, bedding, lamps, and so much more. While things may look different this year for market and ordering, we have taken all necessary precautions to stay safe and keep our clients safe as well. Part of our retail space has been sectioned off to create a safe zone for meetings with clients. The table is nine feet long which allows for safe social distancing and we have extra masks, if customers do not have their own. We also have hand sanitizing stations throughout the shop. Our priority is to be able to work with you safely, while continuing to bring you fresh, fantastic, and fabulous design work.
We are seeing traditional furniture making a tremendous comeback with 18th century lines being touted as the “brightest and best.” It seems as though the consumer has realized that disposable cookie cutter furniture just doesn’t work as well as heirloom pieces. High quality is in, as people want to get the most value for their purchases. The resurgence of traditional furniture does not mean that retail showrooms look dated, it just means transitional is mixed. The market always promises to show us innovative designs, and we are consistently enthusiastic to bring that to you. Texture and more texture will make your room look fabulous. Textiles, metals, woods, and artwork added to your upholstery pieces will be the understated test of time.
Monochromatic and light neutral color palettes are still in vogue and will always look sophisticated. However, if you love color, never fear. Blues are in now more than ever! Teal and turquoise have not disappeared, but some exciting new contrasts of gold (yes, gold) make all the other colors stand out. As we head into uncharted times, stay safe and make your home one you enjoy being in. We are here to help.
God Bless!
