My favorite time of year is finally here. You can feel it in the air. I always love decorating my own home. I got up early last week to put out the few Fall accessories that I have. Some of my favorite items were left to me by my Mom, who passed away twenty years ago. I think most of her items are vintage, because of the dates she purchased them. I love linens and dishes as well, that are easily changed during the seasons. I plan to purchase some fresh pumpkins and flowers for my front yard this coming weekend. The weather is brisk and refreshing.
I love riding by homes to see all the festive porch decorations with wreaths, pumpkins, and fall mums. The colors are so inspiring. Fall colors lead right into Thanksgiving and Christmas. The holiday season is definitely here, and most are not prepared. The Covid pandemic has us all in a spin with children at home, working from home, and trying to keep an eye on and protect our parents. But, if you can find the time to think about the holidays, you can start planning these special events.
I will be doing my normal traditional celebration with my grandmother’s dishes, gold antique silverware, and our regular food menu to include turkey, sweet potato casserole, dressing, green bean casserole, and sweet tea. Good old southern dishes. If we are lucky enough to see our family, we will be ready for them with warm and inviting welcomes. Food, chatter, and love.
The holidays are also the time of year that our retail store and design center will be redecorated to make the store festive and fun. We have artwork and mirrors, along with pillows and accessories, to help you decorate your home. It is time to start decorating with holiday items and Christmas trees.
