When a client asks my design team to accessorize, we always make room for a vase of fresh flowers.  Seasonal greenery and flowers can be used for any occasion and a nice vase is well worth the money.  Flowers provide an organic, colorful accent in a room while creating a visual reminder that one should “stop and smell the roses”.  We occasionally use silk or preserved flower arrangements for accent colors in certain locations or when something unusual is needed.

I love going to the Biltmore House in Asheville, North Carolina.  It is simply breathtaking, and the gardens enhance the adornments and architectural elements of the estate.  There is so much inspiration bursting from every corner.  A visit to the Reynolda House is another garden lover’s treat.  I know during these trying times, we can’t get out to these places to explore.  However, you can step outside, get some inspiration from nature, and “smell the roses”.  And start your plans for when things return to normal, and maybe add a trip to a local garden to your list.  Remember, this too shall pass and better days will return.
