All of my life I have been exposed to antiques and beautiful furniture designs. Those of you that know me know that I like to give that “old meets new” look in a transitional way. You can take an old console that has beautiful curves or turned legs and decorate above it with a simple vase of flowers, old blue, and white pottery, a few books, or add simple art that is abstract and you have the old meets new instantly. Alternatively, you can add an interesting mirror above the console with the same concept of accessories. Old Blue and White worn vases and pottery are my favorite way to accent. They have a life and look of their own. Paint the walls light, one shade darker than the white trim. I typically use White Dove by Benjamin Moore for the trim. It is a soft white. There are so many light paint colors for walls that I like by both Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore that allow you to let your imagination run wild. Paperwhite by Benjamin Moore has a hint of blue in it and it is also one of my favorites for walls. Beauty manifests itself in the simplest things, paint colors, flowers, interesting furniture, artwork, dishes, wicker, blue and white pottery, fabrics, rugs, trims on window treatments, decorative pillows, and so much more. I hope that you will read this article and let your imagination help you get inspired to make changes. Most people are afraid of change, but Beauty is truly Everywhere.
