When we first met this client, she had completed some great accessorizing, but still needed help updating her home. She had been living with the previous homeowner’s colorful choices in the dining room for years, and wanted to move toward a more modern and contemporary look. She wanted a soft blue color on the dining room walls, and needed a transition to her vibrant green kitchen. The walls of first floor living areas, foyer, and stairway also needed to be painted. We lightened the gold walls throughout the house to a beautiful warm neutral, and selected the perfect transitional blue for the dining room. We then found an artistic chandelier for the dining room and foyer to make a “wow” statement as soon as you enter in the front door. We brought in a mirrored chest and ribbon mirror to compliment the new chandelier in the foyer. A textured grey/blue rug grounds the upholstered chairs and inviting round table. The artwork definitely took a contemporary path, bringing in blues, greens, and silver, while the draperies give height and a sophisticated stance to the room. Brushed nickel drapery hardware and clear acrylic finials define the space. Simply beautiful…they love it! For our next project, we are transforming the piano room and family room.
