Another year has passed and so many changes within the design world has my head spinning. I thought keeping up with social media and technology was a lot, but not as much as design trends. Everyone always asks me “What are the new trends?” Trends change from season to season. We can always count on new designs at Market. Whether it is upholstery or case goods, we can customize a sofa to length with any skirt, foot, and fabric that a customer desires. Case goods are no exception. We have the option to order a nightstand, a console table, a desk or a dresser to our client’s specification. Like I said, the choices are endless. Our job is now easier when it comes to squeezing a piece of furniture into an odd place. Another category that is endless are rugs, which are being made with the same technology as the Crypton and Sunbrella fabrics for furniture. Now rugs for loggias, kitchens, and family rooms are trouble-free. As an example, one of our clients loves her new kitchen runner because she has a new puppy and it is washable. Wallpaper has also made a quick comeback. We love the new designs by squeezing the idea of wallpaper here and there into a powder room or dining room. I say, “Bring It On” in 20l8.
