It is that time of year when everyone is hustling and trying to get everything done for friends and family to enjoy the holidays.  As for my family, we are trying to arrange many schedules with everyone.  You know that when the children are grown and have a life of their own, you work your plans into theirs instead of the other way around.    My son is coming from Columbia, with his girlfriend and her little girl, and my daughter will be on break from UNC-Chapel Hill.  I love having them together as much as possible and that is mostly what makes the holidays enjoyable.

We also brought traditions with us passed down from our parents and grandparents.  Now we are creating new traditions with our own children.  We all love to see the lights at Tanglewood.  Since the lines tend to be long during this time of year, we will need the hot chocolate to warm us.    This year after Tanglewood, I want to start a new tradition to celebrate life where each of us will light a candle on the dining room table where I have my mother’s antique candlesticks.

I thought I would bring my home to you and celebrate life because life as we know it changes every day.  My family wishes you a happy holiday season, a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year with many blessings.
