Window treatments are a favorite subject of ours. We love the strength they add to a room, which is warm and inviting. Window treatments frame the window and help to bring the outside in. Linen fabrics seem to be the most popular, which come in different weights. There are also bold prints, geometrics, and solids. When selecting a linen fabric, the range of colors vary from deep reds, soft pinks, greens, and mustard yellows to aged blues and greys. There are no apples to apples with a linen fabric. There are many factors to the cost of the fabric. You also need to consider the lining with linen fabric curtains. Sometimes we add a tape trim to the top and bottom and sometimes just the sides. Fabrics will often be the inspiration for a room. For our Parade of Homes showcase house, we used a fabric as the inspiration for the entire home. Colors from the fabrics in one room were sprinkled throughout the entire showcase house. That’s what we mean by using fabrics as inspiration. We also think of timeless when we are selecting fabrics for clients. We want our clients to enjoy their homes for many years to come.
