A new client called in January with enthusiasm to set up an appointment to discuss the changes she was ready to make to her home.  She bid on and won a silent auction gift certificate from June DeLugas Interiors that is donated each year.

The first thing we did was walk through the house for me to make notes and take photos of the changes she was ready to make.  We began in the kitchen.  Lighting was an issue all over the house and especially in the kitchen.  She wanted her current cabinets painted, all new paint colors, as well as new tile in both guest bathrooms.   She desired a new window treatment for her dining room and molding installed in the entry, kitchen and dining room.

I began the process by setting up meetings with a handyman contractor who handles electrical, construction, and tile work.   Next I met with a painter at their home to get an estimate on painting.    After our initial meetings, my design staff and I selected new lighting for the entire house and suggested molding options for the new wainscoting.  Tile selections, paint colors and light fixtures were also selected.   My next meeting was with the client to show her the overall plan to get her approval to begin the process.

My client’s husband commented when I installed the last element of the project, the window treatment, that they were so very happy with how this project turned out.  He loved the tile backsplash the most.    My client especially loved her new curtains and chair cushion covers in the dining room.  I was thrilled with their new ambience of lighting.  Appropriate paint colors, along with the new light fixtures, corrected their lighting problem.
