When clients from the past came to see us, they discussed a new look they wanted…a well-aged look and stately elegance of English Cottage. There were several emails back and forth asking specific questions and ideas. We went about our design process as usual: pulling fabrics, designing new window treatments, space planning, selecting rugs, pillows, and accessories. At our first meeting, we presented a CAD drawing and rendering of the living room. They were thrilled that they could imagine the new selections with a rendering.
For the new room, we planned two new sofas facing each other, a spindle chair and ottoman flanking the fireplace and a comfortable club chair and ottoman for watching TV. The pillows were made in a print fabric to tie into the new color scheme of the room. The rug was custom sized and cut to fit with the corner fireplace. New lamps, new fire-screen, and a new art pieces completed the room. Our clients were ecstatic with their clean English Cottage look.
