I find that most people consider their homes a place of safety and comfort. I listen to my clients and when they ask for comfort, I look towards soothing palettes and layers of texture. A color such as Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore is a staple color for your walls to calm you and your surroundings. I swear, it looks good anywhere. Texture can be inclusive in your draperies and soft goods. Add something reflective to play up the Revere Pewter color, such as pewter or silver. I love adding mirrors to every room to get the reflection of sun or clouds and it is very impressionistic. Other colors to add to gray are soft blues, oatmeal and flax colors, and white.
