We just finished the Parade of Homes in Winston Salem. When we design houses for Don Hamrick, we put our entire hearts and passion into the project. We start at the beginning with one piece of fabric. That fabric is our inspiration for the entire project. This year’s Thibaut fabric print had multiple light and airy greens and blues that were easy to work with. We moved on to select multiple pillow fabrics that Thibaut considered “coordinates” for the main print fabric. We ordered a sectional sofa that we had made to fit the special space. We found an animal rug at the Atlanta Antique Market, when we made a buying trip to Atlanta last summer. All was in the plan from the beginning. Also, we selected a wallpaper for the dining room that was another coordinate with the print we had selected to make draperies. We created a special paint finish to go on the TV cabinet that we proposed in the same sitting room, and we used the same finish on the wet bar. We pulled these colors from the fabric we had originally selected. Throughout the home, we used Vintage rugs which also represent what was going on at market this past week. All the showrooms had vintage rugs on display. Every single person that toured loved the rugs. Some of these rugs will come back to June DeLugas Interiors and will be for sale. We wanted the home this year at the Parade to be a modern version of an old Buena Vista Home. Everyone that came through the home said it felt warm and open, but certainly like it belonged in this beautiful historical neighborhood. From the heart, we created a classic home with inspiring ideas to change the way you live.
