A recent search for accessories for a client’s house led me to High Point, where I saw several amazing products created from old and recycled materials: Buried roots of ancient trees extracted from the ground by elephants in Indonesia, and made into coffee tables and benches. Old ropes spun into large conversational pieces. Lids from oil drums welded into wall art. Fossilized shells polished into glamorous sculptures.
“One man’s trash is another man’s treasure” is definitely appropriate here. Recycling and repurposing of old materials never ceases to amaze me. I am always excited to see the latest up-cycled products at the furniture market.
