We have just “decked the halls” and while this time of year always puts me in a festive mood, I just have to brag on our tree and decorations and the process we go through to prepare our store for the holidays.  We start in January or July by traveling to the merchandise show in Atlanta.  It can be challenging to get excited about purchasing Christmas items right after the holiday or in the July humidity that Atlanta offers, but I believe we purchased the best the market had to offer this year.  Upon returning to our showroom in July, we were inspired to change the showroom to accommodate the colors we saw in Atlanta.  We repainted our showroom (with the help of my husband) and went to work rearranging the space to display the new accessories, home furnishings, and Christmas decorations arriving daily. We often wished for the help of Santa’s elves as we opened, unpacked, and decorated.  We created groupings with pillows and accessories to match our tree.  Everything was planned as an artist might plan what they will paint on a canvas.

The hottest color in every showroom was teal mixed with blue and red-orange accents, so we decided our frosted tree should be festooned with those color combinations.  First, we placed birds, cross ornaments, hand painted ornaments, birdhouses, and teal and blue ornaments on the tree. Next, we added texture with smooth succulents, prickly birch branches, red burlap, and branches of green and teal hues.

Another color that has become the new neutral is gray.  The accent color of choice at the July market was bright yellow; all we needed now was a pop of Christmas red.  It is the perfect accent to the gray/yellow color combination…splendid!

If you weren’t able to attend our Christmas Open House, please stop by to see our artfully planned showroom.  We understand that you would expect no less from our little elves!

Merry Christmas and God Bless!
