When a client comes to us and wants a colorful home, we start by creating a neutral base palette. Neutral walls work best, because you can change out your décor and the wall color will still work. We add in pops of color with the artwork, pillows, and accessories. These things can easily be changed out later, if you decide to redo your space. For this client, she wanted corals, teals, oranges, reds, and blues in her home. We wanted to excite the eye when entering this home, so we added soft gold lighting and touches of gold thru accessories and furniture accents. This added visual warmth to the space, which complemented the bold colors well. Some people may be scared to use bold colors in their home, but using them thoughtfully, without overload is key.
