When we work with clients on their entire house, it is hard to select our favorite room. They all seem special to us. When we start with clients, we feel there needs to be a chemistry between us and it is like a mini marriage that can last two to three years. First and foremost, there must be rapport. A successful collaboration is like a romantic relationship relying on trust, admiration, and inspiration. We find we must communicate openly about needs, desires and tastesoften under duress of contractor woes, cost overruns and timelines. In the end, we create rooms together you’ll love forever.
