Blending two distinct design styles into one cohesive aesthetic is rising in popularity in the field of design—coastal farmhouse and modern traditional are a few notable examples. In this project highlighted below, our client requested a combination of the French style with modern influences, known as French Modern. This design style is a sophisticated blend of classic French elegance and contemporary minimalism. It merges the ornate, timeless aspects of traditional French design with the clean lines and functionality of the modern style.

In the kitchen, the white cabinets and sleek stone surfaces give a French aesthetic, while the acrylic accents on the pendants and pop of color on the backsplash bring modern touches to the space. The loveseat on the covered porch has a modern look with the crisp white and black throw pillows with red florals that is softened French influences with the ivory upholstered cushions and curved metal frame. This luxurious master bathroom we did is the epitome of the French Modern style with the ornate sconces adorning the wall beside the vanity mirrors juxtaposing the gray toned floor tile. French Modern design creates a timeless yet fresh aesthetic by marrying classic French sophistication with modern restraint. The key is balance—mixing ornate details with sleek, functional elements for a look that feels both rich in history and effortlessly contemporary.
