I always like to share ideas and photos of homes we have completed with my fans and since the Spring Parade of Homes was this past weekend and next weekend, here are a few highlights.
The house is located in the Buena Vista area on the corner of Yorkshire and Wellington. The address is 523 Yorkshire Rd. Lot #19. When we are designing homes in an older neighborhood, we normally try to blend in.
We started on the outside and used oversized tumbled brick and traditional white windows with black shutters. For the inside colors, we used a piece of fabric for inspiration that had yellows, grays, corals, and blues. The fabric was used for the window treatments on display in the dining room. We used the wall color Roman Column from Sherwin Williams for the entry, dining, halls, kitchen and living area. Wickham Gray was used for the ceiling in the dining room to accent the trim in the ceiling. Lighting is also always a consideration when colors are chosen for our design houses.
Roman Column is a see through color that is light and reflective with a little yellow in it and worked well with the yellow and grays in our fabric. The “man cave” upstairs was painted a deeper blue gray color, while the bonus room was painted a lighter blue gray color.
Everyone raved about the house and the colors, so please come out this weekend and see it for yourself. You can visit the home on Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00pm.
