The change in this office is so obvious. Before my design team and I began on the room, there was purple paisley wallpaper on the walls and purple painted ceilings. Dark wood paneling, wainscoting, doors, fireplace, and windows finished the gloomy space.
The new room would result in a light and airy happy room. The texture and the lighting contribute to the intimacy. We chose paint colors to delineate the wood work and beams in the ceiling. The paint color is Clay Beige by Benjamin Moore. We chose to use Clay Beige in different finishes for each element. For all the dark wood, we specified semi-gloss and for the walls a flat finish was used. The ceiling was painted Dove Wing by Benjamin Moore. The lighter color ceiling added definition to the exposed beams in the ceiling, which were also painted semi-gloss Clay Beige. We ordered light furniture with accents of blue and teal-blue fabrics. The étagère behind the desk is a unique custom-designed cabinet of furniture to create file storage and office organization. The desk was made in North Carolina by Hickory Chair. The light cream and gray wool rug was made to fit the scale of the room.
Our client was so thrilled about the transformation of this once dreary and crowded room. The details all contributed to the intimacy of a cozy office.
