Although we are exhausted, we enjoyed our time at the High Point Market last week.  First of all the weather was beautiful and second, we learned much from our manufacturers.  We support American-made furniture, and especially NC-made furniture.

Lillian August, Hickory White, Stanford, Hickory Chair, and Ambella all had amazing new fabrics.  We tested all the new upholstery pieces in these showrooms for comfort and sizing.  By spending time trying out the furniture, we can suggest the best options for our clients needs.  The number one change we noticed was the abundance of Lucite legs added to coffee tables, dining chairs, accent chairs, and tables.  It has been a small accent in the past, but much bigger this market.  Neutrals were intermingled with colors on bedding and furnishings.

Blue was still the number one color, but we did see emerald green and citrine making a comeback.  Lillian August’s colors were so fantastic.  She showed light blue, teal, royal blue in velvets, leathers, linens, and prints.  A dining room chair upholstered in an aqua blue textured leather was one of my favorites.  Coral and red were also very hot in most showrooms.  The combination of coral and blue is breathtaking.  Look for next week’s blog as we will continue with market trends.
