I am continuing with my Timeless Antiques and this week’s subject is mirrors as promised last week. Antique mirrors are generally an amazingly good value for the workmanship and look that you get. Try to find the exceptional rather than the ordinary as you will always find a place for it however many homes you may notch up. Those with the original glass and beveled edges to the mirror have an authentic quality as do those where the silver finish on the back of the glass 
has slightly faded to give an aged patina. Never go antique hunting without some key measurements in a notebook you keep for your decorating needs.
