When a client asks my design team to accessorize, we always make room for a vase of fresh flowers. Seasonal greenery and flowers can be used for any occasion and a nice vase is well worth the money. Flowers provide an organic, colorful accent in a room while creating a visual reminder that one should “stop and smell the roses”. We occasionally use silk or preserved flower arrangements for accent colors in certain locations or when something unusual is needed.
I love going to the Biltmore House in Asheville, North Carolina. Taking a laburnum walk viewing the botanical features and the way they enhance the adornments and architectural elements of the estate. Visiting Reynolda House is another garden lovers treat this time of year.
For exterior floral design, we like to use containers on balconies and terraces creating a country style décor and ambience. We have attached photos of the exterior and entry to June DeLugas Interiors. Anna Looper, Flower Garden Girl, helped us evoke the feeling of an English garden. She used our antique pots and enhanced The Little French Girl Statue with flowers and vines. She also worked with the blue iron antique fence and coordinated colors. Everyone asks us about our flower garden. Come by for a visit.
